Genesis 11:1-32

REVIEW- Foundations… Sin progresses; GOD’S ANSWER

POINT 1- Moses writes the written record of the Savior’s NECESSITY

A. Humanity once again disobeyed God and chose to travel EAST

(Adam and Eve- Gen 3:24; Cain- Gen 4:16; and Lot- Gen 13:11)

B. They endeavored to build a city, a tower, and a NAME

C. Their efforts were rooted in fear, but more specifically REBELLION

D. The LORD recognizes that He needs to disrupt their UNITY

E. The LORD confuses their language and scatters them ABROAD

F. The place of the abandoned city now has the name BABEL

Going Do you think too highly of yourself or are you trusting in God’s WAY?

Proverbs 14:12 (contrast John 14:6) SALVATION

“For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4:7 (Proverbs 6:16-17)

John 15:1-6; God prunes the source of our problems so that we are fruitful.

POINT 2- Moses writes the written record of the Savior’s ANCESTORS

A. Despite man’s pride and sin, God has selected His chosen VESSEL

"And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Matthew 23:12

Man goes East to make themselves a name. God calls Abraham west so that He can make Abraham’s name great (Genesis 12:2). Will you follow God’s call?
