“God is Looking For a Few Faithful People” 4/22/07

Genesis 6:9-22

“Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written to us as a warning, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” 1 Corinthians 10:11

POINT 1- By Faith, Noah showed himself to be different than the WORLD

A. Noah didn’t live like those around him, but instead walked with GOD

B. God revealed to Noah that because of sin, He was going to destroy ALL

“And did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly.”

2 Peter 2:5

POINT 2- By Faith, Noah was given the ONLY Ark of SALVATION

A. God commanded Noah to build an Ark that would save his FAMILY

B. Some Scientific Facts about Noah’s Ark

1) 450 feet long; 75 feet wide; 45 feet tall

2) 1,518, 750 cubic feet of space (3 decks)

3) Average Train Box Car holds 240 sheep (double deck) 2669 ft.³

4) Noah’s Ark would hold 569 Box Cars

5) Maximum Capacity: 135,560 animals

6) Taxonomical estimate: 50,000 animals

7) Capacity used: 36% !

“When once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.” 1 Peter 3:20

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY of SALVATION. ARE you one of the FEW?

POINT 3- By Faith, Noah was recorded as man who was OBEDIENT

A. Noah was a man who fulfilled his COMMITMENT to the Lord.

“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” Hebrews 11:7

Will you be different? Are you in the Ark of Jesus? Are you obedient?
