Jews had FALSE expectations of Jesus’ mission

What kind of Person was Jesus? What was his Psyche?

READ ISAIAH 53

POINT 1- Jesus was a man of sorrow because He is rejected as SAVIOR

A. Jesus was rejected by His own COMMUNITY (Luke 4:16-30)

B. Jesus was rejected by His own FAMILY (John 7:1-9)

C. Jesus was rejected by His own FRIENDS (John 11:16-44; Matt 26)

Are you rejecting Jesus as being the Savior of your Soul ?

Are you rejecting Jesus as being the Savior of your SITUATION ?

POINT 2- Jesus was a man of sorrow because He is rejected as LORD

A. The Jewish leadership rejected Jesus’ DEITY (John 5:17-18)

B. The Jewish leadership rejected Jesus’ PREEXISTENCE (John 8:47-58)

C. The Jewish leadership rejected Jesus’ POSITION (Matt 26:62-67)

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.” John 8:31

“Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven,

but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. ²² "Many will say to Me in that day,

'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and

done many wonders in Your name?' ²³ "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew

you; depart from Me, you who practice disobedience!” Matt 7:21-23

“They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient,

and disqualified for every good work.” Titus 1:16

Are you expecting Jesus to be something He isn’t or receiving Him as He is?
