POINT 1- The successful walk recognizes our PAST Vv. 17-24
A. Our past life was self-centered and FUTILE
1) It was characterized by a futile mind.
2) We had ignorance and hardness of heart.
3) We are described as being callous.
4) We are labeled as sensual, greedy, and impure.
B. Our new life is Jesus-centered and full of PURPOSE
1) Our new life begins with being taught by Jesus.
2) We have laid aside our old self.
3) We are renewed in the spirit of our mind.
4) We should put on true righteousness and holiness.
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15
“Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” Matthew 7:21
POINT 2- The successful walk focuses on the NEW Vv. 25-32
A. Our walk goes from forsaking lying to telling the truth.
B. We should change from unrighteous anger to righteous anger.
C. As believers, we should share instead of steal.
D. Our mouths should be pure and not rotten.
E. We should demonstrate forgiveness instead of bitterness.
