Matthew 6:5-15

CHILDREN’S PRAYERS

GUILT motivated or PRIDE motivated… ITS HARD…Pastors 3 min.

POINT 1- Praying with the proper ATTITUDE

A.     When praying we should have an attitude of SINCERITY

Are you IMPRESSING GOD or PEOPLE?

B.     We should see our prayer time with God as being SACRED alone

C.     We should avoid ritualistic prayers by being SPONTANEOUS

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” 1 John 5:14-15

POINT 2-  Praying according to the proper PATTERN  WHAT vs HOW

A.     The pattern of our prayers is founded upon God’s NAME Jacob, Yeshua

B.     YWHW God (Elohim)… “your kingdom come”

C.     YWHW of Hosts (Tzebaoth)… “your will be done… as it is in heaven”

D.     YWHW our Provider (Yireh)…“give us this day our daily bread”

E.      YWHW our Healer (Rapha) & Righteousness (Tzidkenu)… “and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those…”

F.      YWHW our Shepherd (Raah)… “lead us not into temptation”

G.     YWHW our Banner (Nissi) …“but deliver us from evil”

“Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you”  John 16:23

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name”  Philippians 2:9

POINT 3- Praying successfully assumes the proper RELATIONSHIP

A.     Effective prayer requires us to forgive each other, but more importantly for us to have forgiveness from our Father who hears our prayers.

“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.”  Isaiah 59:2

“And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses." Matt 18:34-35
